Do you remember the IBM 300GL that I purchased some time ago? I had talked about it in this article. Now, I decided to update the computer a little and enhance it with some tabs: a sound card and a network card.

I also bought a Fujitsu Siemens LCD monitor, in 4:3 format, with VGA connector.

First of all, I installed my Sound Blaster Live (PCI Slot) on IBM 300GL. I've had this sound card since I was a kid, but I see it's still in great shape.

In the short video, you can quickly see the installation phase of the sound card.

In addition to the Sound Blaster Live, I also installed a network card, also PCI, 10-100 Base-T.

It seems that vintage technology is not entirely obsolete! There was not even need to look for drivers, which were already present in Windows 2000.

In this way, I can connect the vintage computer to my home intranet and also to the internet.

The vintage IBM 300GL computer, running Windows 2000, also connects with the most modern Windows 10 computers to transfer files, programs and games.

I consider the IBM 300GL a vintage computer: it was sold from 1997 to 2000. Intel Pentium II processor, Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system (but the computer was born with Windows 98 or NT). It is equipped with 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of hard disk!
