Intel Pentium II processor, Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system (but the computer was born with Windows 98 or NT). Is this IBM 300GL vintage enough? It was sold from 1997 to 2000 and is even equipped with 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of hard disk!
When we talk about vintage computers, we generally think of the Commodore of the 80s, such as the Commodore 64for example. Today, however, we move on to another brand and another period. An IBM of the late 90s!
Unboxing the IBM 300GL computer
When I receive a vintage computer, it is interesting to evaluate how it is packed for transport. This computer was packed very well and arrived safe and sound from transport!
In addition to the computer, I also bought an original IBM keyboard.
The IBM 300GL computer
This IBM 300GL is equipped with an Intel Pentium II processor at 400 MHz, 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of hard drive!
On the front, in addition to the power switch and status LEDs, there is a 3.5" floppy disk drive and a CD reader/writer.
At the rear, there are: the power input and the communication ports with the outside world, such as the serial, parallel, USB, PS/2 and VGA ports.
Turning on the computer
Finally the most interesting part of the video! The computer test!
The computer booted normally with the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system. In the video, I also recorded the sounds when the computer was turned on... making it ASMR!
