DAT X2 electronic control system for tunneling lifters

THAT X2 is the new version of 3CTR electronic control system for tunneling lifters. It is installed on 3 booms tunneling lifters: 2 platforms to lift workers and 1 central boom to lift centres in tunnels.

Electronic proportional manipulators and a LCD monitor complete each platform transmitter: these components are useful to make movements very accurate. Consent pushbuttons are present on control joysticks: they are helpful to choose the movement to perform and also to avoid that an accidental manipulator movements would compromise operators’ safeness.

The LCD monitors help operators to understand machine status and, consequently, to optimize their work. Furthermore, emergency pushbuttons are important to block the whole equipment in case of emergency.

DAT X2 control system for tunneling lifters is provided with several functions:

  • electronic area, moment and load limiter helps operators to lift a centre in safe conditions;
  • stabilization controller assures that the lifting equipment is perfectly stabilized to the soil before beginning a working session and a centre mounting;
  • commands selector avoids simultaneous incompatible movements, allowing the operator to concentrate on the maneuver he is making.

DAT X2 electronic control system for tunneling lifters, the project.

THAT X2 is different from the former 3CTR electronic control system. The new DAT X2 system is composed by DAT instruments THAT CB programmable controllers. Especially relevant is the central processor (DAT DR MR4A2R), that coordinates all functions. Other peripherals (DAT CB 8DA, DAT CB 8A8D, DAT CB 8I4O, DAT CB 8I4ORL) work as distributed logic I/O boards and also as stand alone controllers, with their custom programmed functions. In addition, most important functions are demanded to two identical boards and their result are compared by the main cpu. More than 14 DAT CB boards compose the whole control system.
